"Early years are the most powerful education in the life of a young child". "And caregivers can change their world around them".
Anthony’s Bilingual Preschool goal is to emphasize equality, solidarity, emotional awareness, literacy, and exploration of the materials within our classrooms and surrounding community. It is our goal to build on a child’s academic foundation with play-based learning, hands-on experimentation, group discussions and use of local resources.
Anthony’s Bilingual Preschool provides an individualized, child centered program that allows young children to play and learn what is most beneficial for them at their developmental stage! Our teachers' experience and talents make our program unique. Our students' learning is rewarding, and we take pride seeing their achievements and realized potential. Within our bilingual program our classroom are filled with engaging activities that keep our young students learning.
3 months-18/24 months old Program (Family themed)
Skills such as taking a first step, smiling for the first time, and waving “bye-bye” are called developmental milestones. Developmental milestones are things most children can do by a certain age. Children reach milestones in how they play, learn, speak, behave, and move (like crawling, walking, or jumping).
In the first year, babies learn to focus their vision, reach out, explore, and learn about the things that are around them. Cognitive, or brain development means the learning process of memory, language, thinking, and reasoning. Learning language is more than making sounds (“babble”), or saying “ma-ma” and “da-da”. Listening, understanding, and knowing the names of people and things are all a part of language development. During this stage, babies also are developing bonds of love and trust with their parents and others as part of social and emotional development. The way parents cuddle, hold, and play with their baby will set the basis for how they will interact with them and others.
18 months old - 4 years old (Little Explorers)
Beginning with children 18 months old we emphasize fairness, community, emotional awareness, and exploration of the materials within our classrooms and surrounding community.
As the Children get older our Bilingual teachers guide students to learn in a fun way. We promote the development of skills such as taking turns, playing make believe, sing songs, riming and chanting, kicking a ball and climbing using a playground equipment. We help children achieve developmental milestones in how they play, learn, speak, behave, and move (like jumping, running, or balancing).
Around age two children have an increasing desire to be independent; the “terrible twos.” However, this can be an exciting time for a two year old child. Toddlers at this stage of their development will experience a lot of changes in their thinking, learning, social, and emotional. We help children navigate their world with this changes. As children grow stage we challenge them to follow two- or three-step directions, sort objects by shape and color, imitate the actions of adults and playmates, and express a wider range of emotions. Also children between 3-4 starting to learn/practice more in depth empathy, compassion, to share, to help, independence, to listen and to be heard.
